Old Age Pension Program
Old Age Pension (OAP): Provides financial assistance and health care benefits for low-income adults aged 60 or older.
Qualification Criteria
There are several requirements, which are universal to all categories of assistance. These are:
Residency: establish a Colorado address, apply in the county of residence and there is not a time of duration requirement
Citizenship: born in the United States, a naturalized citizen or a legal alien admitted into the United States
The Old Age Pension Program (OAP) has two categories of assistance.
OAP-A
Age: 65 and over
Income Limit: $589
Countable Resource Limit: $2,000 - Individual; $3,000 - Couple
Benefit(s): OAP-A Includes Medicaid coverage
OAP-B
Age: 60 to 64 years of age
Income Limit: $589
Countable Resource Limit: $2,000 - Individual; $3,000 - Couple
Benefit(s): OAP-B Includes Old Age Pension Health Care Plan. The Old Age Pension (OAP) Health and Medical Care Program provides limited medical care for individuals receiving Old Age Pension grants who do not qualify for Medicaid.
