Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP)

The Colorado Child Care Assistance Program provides financial assistance to low-income families that are working, searching for employment or in training, and families that are enrolled in the Colorado Works Program and need child care services to support their efforts toward self-sufficiency.

How the Program Works for Families

Eligible families receive assistance with child care costs to support them in their employment or training endeavors. A Low-Income application must be completed and signed by the applicant. Only one parent must sign the application. In teen parent families, if the teen applicant is under 18 years old and living with his/her parent, the teen's parent must sign also. If the teen is not living with a parent, the teen's signature is sufficient. The application becomes effective the date it was completed, signed, and received by the county assuming all other eligibility criteria are met. Written verification of all earned and unearned income is required for all applicants within 30 days of the date of application. Verbal verification may suffice, however written verification must be recorded within 30 days or the client is no longer eligible for childcare subsidies. Written verification of self-employment and proof of financial gain must be obtained prior to approval of child care benefits. All applicants must be informed of their appeal rights at the time of application. Immunization records of children needing care may be required by the county.
